NOTE: The Walk for Education does so much for the kids and educators of Westford. In addition to the obvious benefits, it allows teachers and kids alike to support their own school systems with supplemental programs and funds. It’s a joy to see them walking together for their own cause. I’d like to take this time to thank you for your editorial support this year. By helping us get the word out, you’ve been a difference maker. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help you help us -- Jeannette Wilkinson, President, WEF

WESTFORD, MA -- October 8, 2004 -- The Westford Education Foundation (WEF), today announced that the Walk for Education, held on Sunday, September 26th, was a great success and raised over $5000 for grant programs that will be issued this Fall. The Walk is an annual event which promotes awareness in the community about the Foundation, but more importantly raises funds that WEF uses to award innovative teachers and citizens with educational grants. By granting funds for new endeavors, which are consistent with the Westford curriculum, WEF aims to introduce students to a broader array of new and impacting programs. For more information please call Kathleen Fahey, Grant Committee Chair (978-692-0765) or visit the website (www.westfordeducationfoundation.org).

They may never know how many young lives they’ll touch through their efforts.”

WEF would like to thank all those that supported this year’s event. A special thanks goes out to the many businesses who continue to look beyond their bottom lines and value the impact of getting involved in the community’s educational programs. We would like to send special thanks to:
